Crafts: Vintage Tea Cup Candles

These candles look amazing in light pastel interiors. You also get a benefit - finally you can recycle your leftover burnt candles to make something amazing.

What you’ll need:

1. Teacup or coffee mug
2. 2 taper candles for one candle(if you have some partially burned ones lying around, those will work too)
3. Pliers or tweezers
4. 2 sticks (can be skewers or pencils)
5. Bowl of hot water and cooking pot

Method:

Step 1: pre-heat your teacup in a bowl of hot water. This might not be completely necessary but i did it just to be safe since we will be pouring hot wax into it. Dry thoroughly afterward.

Step 2: melt both candles on high temperature, make sure you watch them closely so they don’t burn – they will melt f.a.s.t. the best way to do this is in a large pot using low temperature on your cooker. During this step you can also add essential oils to the melted wax.

Step 3: when wax is liquid carefully pour it into dry teacups. Insert a candle wick and support it with two sticks so it stays straight. You can also to decorate the top of the candle with coffee beans - just sprinkle them on top of the candle when it is solid and then add another thin layer of liquid wax.

Step 4: remove the wicks with pliers(you will only be using one)
Step 5: place the wick in the center of the teacup and hold there with skewers or pencils.

Step 6: let it dry for few hours and then voila - Vintage cup candles.
